Hi everyone,
Here is a short and sweet (or not-so-sweet) update on local COVID numbers.
As California has reopened, and with the Delta variant spreading in the state, we are seeing a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in Sonoma County. Ironically, this is occurring almost exactly one year after last summer’s surge.
Local Hospital Update
- There are currently 7 COVID-19 patients at SSRRH (Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital), with 2 in the ICU. SRMH (Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital) has 17 with 2 in the ICU. PVH (Petaluma Valley Hospital) has 5 with 2 in the ICU. HDH (Healdsburg District Hospital) has 4 with 1 in the ICU. KP (Kaiser Permanente) has 9 with 1 in the ICU. I could not get COVID numbers for SVH (Sonoma Valley Hospital).
- Over 75% of eligible Sonoma County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine.
- Hospitalizations are occurring almost exclusively in unvaccinated patients.
- While the vaccines are highly effective, they do not convey 100% protection, and it is important we remain vigilant with masking, handwashing and social distancing.
I hope you find this data interesting and insightful. If anyone is interested in getting vaccinated for COVID-19, call our office at (707) 938-1255 and we will get it done.
I will keep you posted on any updates for COVID-19 vaccine boosters as it becomes available.
